Feminization of a Woman
For this assignment I was tasked with writing a Researched Literary Analysis paper using one of the literary criticisms as my perspective on the paper, and it had to be at least 1200 words. We also had to use Saint Louis University’s library to find scholarly articles to use as sources along side our book, and any other sources we found from our research. I decided to write about Isaac Asimov’s I, Robot, about the main character Susan Calvin and how she was fought through the stereotypes that were held for women in the 1940’s while at the same time being held back by other stereotypes. The most challenging part was trying to figure out how the Saint Louis University online library worked. In fact I do not think I ever did figure out how to do it.
Final Draft
I was told in my peer review to take out a little bit of summarizing that I had so I did that. I also added some more information and background on a few of my points that needed it. I was struggling with the fact that my paper was only 1300 words. I felt that I had thoroughly met all of the points and I had successfully used quotes and my sources. It was researched very well but I was still worried about the length. I finally realized that it was actually good and that the length does not matter because I had already reached the word count and it was very well done. I had nothing to worry about.

Rough Draft/Peer ReviewThis was definitely one of my more difficult papers to write, I knew what to write about but I was not really sure how to write it. I knew that I wanted to write a feminist critique about Susan Calvin but that was all that I knew. So I sat and thought about what I could talk about that would make a good argument and I remembered the story “Liar!”, and I went from there. I researched the time in which it was written and used the knowledge of that time to help me understand what was written and why. I did go through a little bit of writer’s block while writing this but I was able to get over it, and I think that overall I did pretty well.
